Winery Ground Breaking | Public Spaces
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A new winery in rural Mower County is expected to be the one of the largest in southeast Minnesota. Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery broke ground today on a new construction project. The project includes a building featuring a production area, a brand new tasting room, restaurant and event space that encompasses over 9000 sq. ft.
The new location is along US 63 and MN 16 in Eastern Mower County, just west of Spring Valley. The location will be able to support 300 people at one time.
The winery says they will have a casual, but fun environment. "When you come here, it's not just for a wine tasting and buying a bottle and being on your way. We want you to come here, stay a while, have a few snacks, have a piece of cheese. We hope that's something people come here and do," says Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery spokesman Justin Osborne.
The company plans to produce 5000 cases of wine a year, making it one of the largest in our region. Grapes have already been in the ground for a year, and the company hopes to have some production from the plants in year two, but says year three will be the first full crop.
The building should be open by next summer. You can find out more about Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery by clicking here.
