Klobuchar Introduces Innovation Bill | News
Minnesota U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar visited the Lincoln K-8 school in Rochester Friday.
Klobuchar wanted to see the school's well known zebra fish lab, but was also there to promote a new innovation and jobs bill.
She says one of the bill's intents is to get more kids interested in science, technology, enginnering and math.
"The bill doubles the nubmer of STEM high schools in our country and provides funding for that," said Senator Klobuchar. "The only way we are going to be able to compete internationally is because of kids, like the ones in this school, that are interested at an early age in science, enginnering, technology and math and that's what this is about."
Klobuchar is a co-sponsor of the innovatino bill, which was introduced in the U.S. Senate late last month.
The senator also made stops in Austin and Albert Lea on Friday.
