World's Tallest Man: From Rochester to Boston... For Shoes!

CANTON, Mass. (AP) - The tallest man in the United States has traveled from Minnesota to Massachusetts for a custom shoe-fitting with Reebok that he hopes will help him live a normal life.

Igor Vovkovinskiy says he's had 16 surgeries in six years to fix problems created by shoes that didn't fit. He's 7 feet, 8 inches tall and says his shoe size is somewhere between a 22 and 26.

He was at Reebok headquarters in Canton on Thursday for a complex shoe-fitting that involved, among other things, custom pressure-mounting equipment and a handful of technicians.

Vovkovinskiy says his only shoes have no traction, making it "suicidal" to leave his home.

Reebok says it's building the shoes because they want to help. The company says the project will cost between $12,000 and $20,000.

It's Time to Get Grumpy

It'll be OK to get grumpy in Wabasha this weekend. Well... not really, but the city will be hosting its annual Grumpy Men Festival.

The event is based on the movie "Grumpy Old Men" which is based on life in Wabahsa. We're told the screen writer based the movie on his grandfather who was born and bred in Wabasha.

When the festival started 19 years ago, it had lots to do with the movie, but officials from the Wabasha-Kellogg Area Chamber of Commerce say these days it's more about celebrating winter.

"Ya know, (it) gets to be a little long. it gets to be drawn out and everything and so having people come here in the winter and hey... we do have a ski hill, we can ice fish, we can do this.

Winona Student Hopes Mother's Urn is Returned

Winona Student Hopes Mother's Urn is Returned

A Winona State University Student says she's still hoping someone will return her mother's ashes.

As we've reported, the ashes were stolen out of the back of Emily Boulay's car late last week. Her mother passed away nearly two years ago and the ashes had been kept at an aunt's house. Boulay was in the process of transporting them back to her father's, but thought her roommates would feel uncomfortable if she brought them inside. So she stored them in the back of her car for several days.

She says she went through a roller coaster ride of emotions on Saturday, when she discovered that someone had taken the urn. Three days later, she's still holding out against hope that the urn will somehow turn up.

"I hope they didn't know what it was when they were taking it. I'd just like to believe a little bit better in people I guess.
